PriceMatching.ca
Price Matches must be done at the Customer Service desk, not at the regular checkout. Sometimes it can take a substantial amount of time to get service.
Often the associate will need to phone the competitor’s store or go online to verify the price. This can also take a substantial amount of time.
Price matching at FutureShop.com has a high risk of failure due to the time delay taken by Future Shop to address emailed price match requests. It often takes more than a day to receive a response to a price match request. In this time, the situation at the competitor’s site could have changed (i.e. the price goes up or the product goes out of stock). What can happen is that you purchase the product at Future Shop and immediately file the price match request, the product is shipped, and then you receive a price match denial. This can be a major hassle.
